چکیده
Background: Orbital cellulitis is defined as acute inflammatory orbital swelling of infectious origin. Most often secondary to sinusitis. Intraocular foreign bodies neglected because their small size, or sometimes radio-transparent nature, can be difficult diagnose even with radiology and responsible for cellulitis. We demonstrate the diagnostic therapeutic difficulties.
Patients Methods: This a retrospective descriptive study patients unilateral revealing intraocular bodies, conducted in Department Adult Ophthalmology, Hospital August 20, 1953, involving 58 patients, from January 2015 until December 2020.
Results: The average age was 38.5 years. most affected group between 21 30 years clear male predominance. A decrease visual acuity found all (unilateral blindness 43%) complicated by purulent melt (43%). All received medical treatment, including intravitreal injections antibiotics 71% cases, surgical treatment consisting extraction body immediate evisceration eyeball 25% cases.
Conclusion: cellulitis, although mostly sinusitis, reveal various etiologies such intra-orbital that go unnoticed life-threatening functionally damaging, especially when diagnosis made late management inappropriate. presence an must suspected cases trauma associated palpebral wound, if it minimal, clinical aggravation. Any delay and/or lead serious complications affect functional vital prognosis. consists body. recourse our context unfortunately continues persist at high rates; consultation thus management.

Impacted foreign bodies in orbital region: review of nine cases.
Orbital injuries with a foreign body may result in severe structural and functional damage to the eye or orbital contents. Management and prognosis depend on the composition and location of the foreign body and whether there is secondary infection. Metallic objects and glass are the most frequently encountered and well-tolerated, whereas organic foreign bodies can elicit an inflammatory reactio...

A lot of foreign bodies removed by simple extraction transmurally or gastrotomy or intestinal resection. A few of them passed spontaneously by stool. This communication is based on a retrospective survey of 245 intraocular foreign bodies (IOFB) seen at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital between I96I and I970 inclusive. Because the numbers have been swollen by patients referred from other regions after failed extraction, the results are not strictly comparable with those of other authors, as there tends to be a higher rate of complicatio...
متن کاملCT evaluation of plastic intraocular foreign bodies.
The high sensitivity of CT in detecting metallic orbital foreign bodies has been previously described [1-6] . While there has been some success in detecting glass fragments , detecting intraorbital foreign bodies made of wood has been very unsatisfactory [1, 2, 69]. Plastic orbital implants are easily recognized on CT as high-attenuation-value images [6, 7]. This report presents two cases of pl...
متن کاملManagement and clinical outcomes of intraocular foreign bodies with the aid of orbital computed tomography.
BACKGROUND Computed tomography (CT) is known to be the first-line imaging method for patients with or suspect to have intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs). The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical outcomes in the management of IOFBs with the aid of CT. METHODS Retrospective chart review of patients who received orbital CT prior to the removal of an IOFB between January 2000 and Decembe...
